1998 TSOS Membership Show:
"Countdown 2000"

TSOS's 1998 exhibit was a juried membership show on display at the Julia C. Butridge Gallery, Dougherty Art Center, 1110 Barton Springs Rd., Austin, Texas from February 4 through March 1, 1998, in Austin, Texas.

About The Jurors

Stan Irvin received his MFA from UT in Austin and then in 1974 started the ceramics program at Laguna Gloria. In 1976, he began working at St. Edward's University where he now holds the position of Associate Professor of Art. Mr. Irvin teaches sculpture, ceramics, and drawing as well as creating work in his own studio. Mr. Irvin is also a board member of the Austin Visual Artists Association (AVAA).

Pat Wilie received his BFA from UT in Austin in art education and studio art. Mr. Wilie is an award-winning sculptor with exhibiting experience in addition to gallery affiliations in New York, Florida, Wisconsin, and Texas. After college he worked for the federal government as a historical renovator and has experience in illustration and architectural work. Mr. Wilie moved to Houston in the early '90s after accepting the position of the chair of the Fine Arts department in the Aldine ISD, but returned to Austin to develop his sculpture career. He is a past member of TSOS and a current member of the International Sculpture Center as well as president of AVAA. He is now working on a sculpture commissioned by the city of Austin through the Art in Public Places program.
