Annual Sculpture Shows

Sculptfest - Hosted by the Texas Society of Sculptors

Sculptfest is an annual celebration of sculpture hosted by the Texas Society of Sculptors, and is usually held at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum on Austin Museum Day in the fall (with FREE admission).

Sculptfest is fun for all ages, featuring all kinds of sculpture in many different mediums, such as stone, concrete, terra-cotta, and bronze. Many of the sculptors are demonstrating their techniques and all exhibiting artists are on-site to answer your questions or tell you how a certain work of art came into being. Sculptfest also features a Children's Corner so that children may enjoy the wonders of creating with clay.

You may also wander through the museum and xeriscaped grounds, with beautiful huge oak trees and a pond, to see over 130 bronze and stone sculptures of the late Austin sculptor, Charles Umlauf.

For more information on future Sculptfest events, select the Upcoming Events link, or view images and information from past Sculptfests at the Past Events page.

TSOS Spring Show - Hosted by the Texas Society of Sculptors

Each spring, TSOS hosts a special member show -- alternating a juried show (with a theme and outside juror) with an all-membership show (in which the artist chooses the piece or pieces displayed). Check the Upcoming Events page for this year's TSOS Spring Membership Show.

The annual Sculptors' Dominion Invitational exhibits large outdoor sculpture in a landscaped setting each spring in San Antonio, Texas

Initially dismissed as a rebel on the San Antonio art scene, Gilbert E. Barrera and his Dominion show have come to be recognized by press and art critics alike for their valuable contributions to sculpture both in Texas and internationally. Check out the show's website at: www.sculptorsdominion.com.
