About Mary Thrasher Griffin
Mary Thrasher Griffin has been sculpting and studying sculpture since young age of 72. Before that, she had a career as a teacher, managed a catering business and raised a family. Mary’s work has been exhibited and won awards all around central Texas. She served for many years on the board of Texas Society of Sculptors and as co-chair of the annual SculptFest, held in conjunction with Austin museum day. Mary Griffin has demonstrated her sculpting skills and explaining the lost wax process for casting bronze at SculptFest and at the Georgetown library annual sculpture exhibition for nine years and is scheduled for the 10th TSOS exhibition in the summer of 2017. In December 2016, Mary was awarded a Lifetime membership in Texas Society of Sculptors.
