About Joe Kenney

Joe Kenney is an Austin Texas area sculptor specializing in religious, public and private bronze sculpture commissions that are monumental sculptures to tabletop size. His artistic interest includes sculptures of the human figure, portraits, life size sculptures of adults and children, religious and sacred orientated sculpture. His recent public and religious sculpture commissions include life size sculpture figures, and high-relief bronze sculptures. Mr. Kenney also creates geometric abstract sculptures for casting in bronze and stainless steel.

Mr. Kenney’s artistic interests include realistic figurative sculpture of historic figures, adults and children that represent everyday human behavior, abstract geometric forms, three dimensional art in education, public art and religious oriented sculpture that evokes in the viewer a realization of the spiritual aspect of humanity and the struggle between good and evil.

Joe’s artistic goal is to achieve clarity as an observer of human behavior and authenticity in sculpture so that his work brings forth an awareness of our connection to one another and the spirituality of our journey in life.

Greco-Roman sculpture and the classical sculptors who followed influence his work. From the influence of timeless design, his work reflects love of family, faith, and commitment to social justice issues.

Since 2005, twenty-seven (27) pieces of Joe Kenney’s sculptures have been installed in museum, public, educational and religious settings.  Exhibitions of his works were held in London, New York City, Baltimore, Columbus, Ohio, Tulsa, Austin and Texas communities between 2006 and
