Artist's StatementA sculpture should produce complex feelings and emotions, re-create special moments or experiences. My goal is to share the beauty and mystical feel of the subject. I want the viewer to be able to capture that special feeling, relive an experience or feel the energy of the subject. |
Artist's BiographyI am native Texan and mostly self taught sculptor and have been sculpting for twenty years. My formal education has been in the sciences. I have a B.A. in Math and Physics, M.S. in Mathematics and Doctor of Medicine. I have had a life long interest in the Arts, wildlife and indigenous peoples of the earth.I am a full time sculptor and present my work in three-dimensional form. I incorporate negative space and form to soften and bring life to the sculpture. I strive for anatomic and historic correctness, but not photographic realism. Patinas are incorporated to add warmth and color. My work is represented in galleries in Texas and Montana and in private collections in Montana, Texas, Wisconsin, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon and Canada. |
