Artist's StatementArt is a basic need in my life embedded deep in my existence . . . The level of fulfillment one achieves through the metamorphosis of the medium into a work of art . . . is captivating. The emotions and feelings it brings to the viewer . . . is sublime. |
Artist's BiographyI was born in 1963 in Houston Texas and lived part of my life in Houston, Mexico, Chicago and presently in San Antonio Texas. Religious sculpture is the family trade. It comes from my mother's side, started by my grandfather and passed on to his sons. My father in his youth painted bullfighters and when he married my mother he started working with religious sculpture mastering the technique in a short time. I felt inclined to art from early childhood and it's been part of my life ever since. When the time came to get serious I selected architecture as my formal training… and how happy I was when I found out that architecture embraces in some way all of the arts. |
ResuméIn 1990 I obtained a Bachelors Degree in Architecture from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi and worked as an architect in various companies in Mexico, Chicago and San Antonio. Before this I got a Computer Programmer degree in a two-year program from a technical school in the same town in 1982.Registrations: Able to communicate in English or Spanish. |
