US Mint - 2009/2010 Last Call to Artists

Final deadline: July 6th, 2010
(Applications will be accepted before midnight on this date.)
The United States Mint invites artists, designers, and illustrators from all over the country to apply for a paid position as a contracted, Associate Designer in our successful Artistic Infusion Program (AIP). Artists chosen to be a part of the AIP program can work from anywhere and have the tremendous opportunity to take part in American history by contributing potential designs for the next generation of coins. Chosen artists will receive $2,000 for each assigned design submission as well as an additional $5,000 if their design is selected to be sculpted into a coin.

Sculptfest 2010 will be held September 19th, from 10AM until 4PM at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, 605 Robert E. Lee Boulevard, Austin, Texas. The Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum features the bronze and stone work of the late Charles Umlauf. The grounds are beautiful and the sculpture is intriguing. New - Benches of Bee Cave Program

Attention: artists, artisans, woodworkers, metal-smiths, etc., the Bee Cave Arts Foundation is looking for artist submissions and sponsors for our Benches of Bee Cave Program. Artists - we need your help! We are looking for unique pieces of art that happen to take the shape of a functional bench. Please read the artists requirements for submissions located on our website: http://www.beecavearts.org/Site/Benches.html There are two ways to get involved: you can choose to design and donate your artwork to the Foundation, or you can submit an application of your design. Once approved, we will add your idea to our web site galleria so sponsors can choose your unique design. Be prepared to provide: 1- resume and references 2-artist's rendering (11x17) and vision statement (or you can complete the bench, adhering to our bench guidelines, and submit a photo for consideration) 3-Completed Artist Agreement and Conservation Form that outlines all the information on the materials used, fabrication methods, installation details and recommended maintenance.

Ongoing - Sacred Art Gallery Austin Exhibition

The Diocesan Fine Arts Council (DFAC) opened the Sacred Art Gallery in February 2009 and hosts a new exhibition every six months. The gallery is free and open to the public during business hours Monday through Friday. DFAC maintains a website www.austindfac.org with a directory of artist contacts and images to facilitate locating and selecting artists creating religious art. Artists interested in participating in future exhibitions of sacred art or being listed on the DFAC website directory hosted by the DFAC should contact Mark Landers: mark@landersstudio.com 512-472-9663. No commission charged for art work sold through the gallery and there is no charge for listing in the artist directory.

 

Ongoing -New Sculpture Garden Wants Outdoor Pieces
