Sculptoršs Dominion has extended its invitations and installation deadline to March 13, 2005. There are about 50 sculptors already registered; we are expecting approximately 20 more registrations.

The Sculptors Dominion will hold its third annual show this April. Installations are due by the second week of March but preferably earlier. Opportunity -- Carve Stone with Ukrainian Master Vasily Fedorouk

Press Release by Kelly Borsheim

Chicago-based Ukrainian-born and trained master sculptor Vasily Fedorouk has been invited to central Texas and he will be exhibiting his stone sculpture at the Sculptoršs Dominion in San Antonio this spring. In addition, he will be teaching stone carving, drawing, and other art topics of interest at the 10-acre home studio of TSOS Webmaster Kelly Borsheim in Cedar Creek, Texas. Vasily has been working as a sculptor since 1977. His works have been exhibited internationally and are in private collections in the USA, Ukraine, Russia, Yugoslavia, Belgium, Brazil, Norway, Korea and Israel. Several of his sculptures are in the permanent collections of museums in Ukraine and Russia. He has created many public works around the world, including one for a symposium in Brazil in which he carved a 10-foot marble sculpture of two figures in three weeks! Vasily was an invited guest to the Seattle 1990 Goodwill Games, which led to his move to the United States.

Workshop dates are Saturday March 26 through Sunday, April 3, with various learning packages available from the entire nine days to weekend workshops and even individual demonstrations or events. Workshop attendees can expect to finish a small-size (2 feet or less) stone carving. And if students bring a maquette, Vasily can visualize their idea better, discuss any composition improvements, and help them realize the work from start to finish.

In addition to Vasilyšs teaching, students and visitors will have the opportunity to buy a wonderful variety of stone and stone carving tools from grinders, diamond blades, and pneumatic hammers to hand and finishing tools. Myles Schachter, sculptor and owner of stone sculpture supplier 2Sculpt, is also offering his teaching services to students during the workshop. Myles will even have pneumatic hammers available for students to try out first during the workshop.

Free camping is available to students and this is another great opportunity to hang out with the instructors and other carvers and learn more at the informal gatherings after work hours. The workshop site is about 20 minutes southeast of Bergstrom International Airport in Austin.

For more information about Vasily and his work, please visit his Web site: vasilyfedorouk.com. Myles' info. is online at: www.2sculpt.com For more information about this tremendous opportunity, please contact Kelly Borsheim at 512.303.3929 or e-mail borsheim@tsos.org. borsheimarts.com/workshop.htm
