The Texas Society of Sculptors (TSOS) is based in Austin, Texas, and was chartered in 1971 by the State of Texas as a non-profit tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization.  Objectives of the society include educating the public about sculpture and the many media of this art form, promoting the work of sculptors, and serving as a liaison between sculptors everywhere.  Membership is open to sculptors and sculpture lovers anywhere.  TSOS sponsors a number of events throughout the year.  A newsletter is published at least four times a year to inform Members of sculptors’ activities, sculpture events, and professional opportunities.

Members create abstract or realistic sculptures in the round and relief.  Sculpting materials used by member to create fine art pieces include bronze and other metals, stone, terra-cotta, ceramics, mosaics, cement, wood, paper, found objects and mixed media.  Styles range from classical to nonobjective.

Some members focus on public and private commissions, and many are represented by art galleries.  New and emerging artists become members to interact with experienced sculptors including those who teach sculpture classes and serve as mentors for sculptors.  Other members are bronze casting foundries, students, art lovers, and arts organizations.

Board meetings are open to ALL members of TSOS. Meetings are frequently held at locations of sculptural interest and are followed by lunch at an area restaurant.
